Description
Revitaplant Inoculums for Legumes is a biological formulation for presowing treatment of legume seeds: soy, peas, chickpeas, vetch, lupine, goat’s rue, clover, melilot, alfalfa, etc. The basis of the formulation is nodule bacteria such as Rhizobium, Bradyrhizobium, Sinorhizobium, Mesorhizobium, which are able to make symbiosis with a legume plant.
Such bacteria live only on the roots of legumes, feeding on root secretions. Nodule bacteria penetrate the roots of legumes through root fibrils. As they move along the root fibrils, the bacteria secrete mucus making long threads. These formations, called infection threads, penetrate the plant roots where bacteria begin to proliferate and stimulate a rapid mitosis around bacterial foci, which results in the appearance of nodules.
Thanks to this unique activity, the plant receives the required amount of nitrogen from the air for its growth and development, within a prolonged period of time, throughout the entire growing season. The interaction between nodule bacteria and legumes is symbiotic. Legumes, supplying nodule bacteria with carbohydrates and mineral salts, in return receive ammonia nitrogen generated as a result of atmospheric nitrogen fixation by nodule bacteria. Part of the nitrogen absorbed by plants remains in the soil together with plant residues, so legumes are the best precursors for subsequent crops in terms of crop rotation.
Using this formulation you will be able to:
- Save considerably on mineral fertilizers (30-70%) and thus reduce the chemical burden on your soils;
- Enrich soils with nitrogen for subsequent crops (see below for the accumulated nitrogen table);
- Increase your crop yield as well as improve your product quality (by 1-3% more protein content in grains (in commercials products).
